EcoTrace is a Chrome extension that estimates the resulting energy draw, water use, and carbon emissions every time you prompt AI. Our goal is to inform and educate the everyday user, helping you make more informed and sustainable choices regarding AI usage. Alongside our extension, we have an integrated user dashboard that displays the impact of your long-term use over the course of week-, month-, and year-long timescales, and gives you a way to see the metrics in a meaningful light. EcoTrace is one small way for you to stay mindful of your impact on our Earth. Our extension is currently compatible with the following models: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and DeepSeek.
