What It Does • Types text directly into focused input fields • Works in Google Docs, forms, textareas, and rich editors • Simulates natural human keystrokes • Preserves formatting where paste is blocked or throttled WHY IT’S USEFUL • Preserves formatting where sites block paste or throttle clipboard use. • Works across most websites and editors that accept keyboard input. • Adjustable speed and behavior (from the EchoType app) to match your typing style. HOW TO USE 1. Install the extension. 2. Open the page where you want text typed and click the extension icon. 3. Select the target text field on the site. 4. In the EchoType app, send your text (and optional speed settings). 5. Watch it type. PRIVACY & SECURITY • No account data is collected by the extension. • All retyping happens locally on your device. • The content script listens only for messages from approved EchoType origins and does not transmit page contents. NOTES • Requires the EchoType web app to send text to the extension. • Some pages with strict input handling may limit paste; EchoType falls back to simulated keystrokes.
