Overview

Read PDFs, Wikipedia, and long articles with highlights, notes, shareable excerpts, contents, bookmarks, and saved progress.

Easy Reader is a local-first PDF and article reader for Chrome. Manage and read PDFs, long articles, and Wikipedia with highlights, notes, bookmarks, saved reading progress, and shareable quote images. PDF reading • Open PDFs with the file picker, drag and drop, a current HTTPS PDF, or the PDF-link context menu. • Use the original document outline, section navigation, and a resizable sidebar. • Highlight text, draw continuously, erase by position, and undo a grouped highlight or the latest pen stroke. • Add named bookmarks and resume at your saved page, in-page position, and zoom level. • Copy or download 1080 × 1440 PNG quote cards with surrounding context, document title, and page number. Article and Wikipedia reading • Click the toolbar button or choose “Read this page with Easy Reader” to extract the current HTTPS article. • Read a clean layout with article images, links, emphasis, code, nested lists, and tables. • Open Contents or Notes when needed; both panels start collapsed. • Add highlights, article notes, and highlight annotations, then export your notes as Markdown. • Adjust typeface, text size, and reading width, and resume from your saved reading position. Version 1.4.0 • Added long-article and Wikipedia reading with contents, highlights, notes, annotations, and Markdown export. • Improved preservation of article formatting and added layouts for reference articles, prose, and technical documentation. • Added optional reading appearance settings and controls for narrow windows. • Preserved familiar PDF library, annotation, drawing, undo, bookmark, quote-image, and reading-progress workflows. New reading features support the eight existing interface languages. Your data PDF files, article snapshots, highlights, notes, bookmarks, and reading records stay in your browser. Anonymous usage statistics are enabled on new installations and can be disabled anytime from Privacy on the home page. Upgrades preserve your existing choice. Statistics contain a random installation ID, extension version, and anonymous activity events; document content, URLs, notes, and reading records are not sent to the developer.
