Overview

Scan and generate QR codes with a single right-click. Everything is processed entirely inside your browser.

Easy QR reads QR codes out of images you find on the web, and makes QR codes out of pages and text. Both from the right-click menu. Scanning Right-click an image, pick "Scan QR code", and the result card opens over the code. If the content is a link, the card has an Open button. Anything else, you can copy it. It handles codes that are tilted, rotated, skewed by perspective, color-inverted, or just small and blurry. Decoding runs on ZXing compiled to WebAssembly, with jsQR as a fallback. If there is more than one code in the image, you get all of them. Results are numbered and each one is matched to a ring drawn on the code it came from. Making codes Right-click empty space on a page to encode the URL you are on. Select some text first and it encodes the selection instead. Save the result as a PNG or copy it to the clipboard. Toolbar popup Click the extension icon, then drag an image in, paste one with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac), or pick a file. Same decoder, no web page involved. Privacy Scanning and generating both run on your machine. There is no server behind this extension, no analytics, and no account. The one network request it makes is fetching the image you right-clicked from the site that is already showing it to you, so the pixels can be decoded locally. Nothing is uploaded. Notes Chrome does not let extensions draw into certain pages, like chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store. There you get the result as a system notification instead. On sites that block hotlinking, the image is read out of the page rather than downloaded again. To scan images on local file:// pages, open chrome://extensions, go to Easy QR's details, and turn on "Allow access to file URLs". Needs Chrome 120 or newer. Interface languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), German, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian.
