Easy Encrypt is a lightweight Chrome extension for local text encryption, decryption, encoding, and hashing. It helps you quickly protect snippets, notes, selected webpage text, and copy-ready results without creating an account. What it supports: - AES encryption/decryption - DES encryption/decryption - Base64 encode/decode - SHA-256 hashing Productivity workflow: - Select text on any webpage and send it to Easy Encrypt from the right-click menu - Auto-copy results to your clipboard - Auto-clear input, output, and saved key data after 5 minutes when enabled Security-minded defaults: - Secret keys are not saved by default - Turn on Remember key only if you want Chrome to store it locally - Leading and trailing spaces are preserved, so exact text round-trips correctly - No account required Good for: - Temporary private notes - Sharing encrypted snippets - Encoding/decoding Base64 text - Hashing text with SHA-256 Privacy: - Runs locally in Chrome - Stores settings only in Chrome storage - No external account or server is required FAQ: Q: Where is my text sent? A: It is processed locally in Chrome. No account or external server is required. Q: Is my secret key saved? A: No, not by default. Use the Remember key option only if you want Chrome to store it locally. Q: Can SHA-256 be decrypted? A: No. SHA-256 is a one-way hash, not reversible encryption.
