Overview

Bookmarks in Chrome's side panel and address bar (type b + space). One-click save to the right folder. Sends nothing anywhere.

Easier Bookmarks puts your Chrome bookmarks in the side panel, right beside the page you're reading, and in the address bar. Simple, fast and private. • Search from the address bar. Type b, a space, then a few letters: your best match opens with Enter, no panel needed. Pinyin initials work here too. • Save in one click. Click ☆ (or press ⌘/Ctrl + D) and the page is saved straight away, into the folder where you keep that site's other bookmarks, or the one you last chose. It tells you where, with Change and Undo right there. • Always know where you are. The star fills when the page you're on is already saved, and a small dot marks it in your folders. Click the filled star to edit it instead of adding a duplicate. • Find anything as you type. Search titles, links and the folders they're in, all at once. Folders turn up too: a matching folder comes first, and Enter takes you straight to it, open. Every word must match, matching text in titles is highlighted, and title matches and recently opened bookmarks come first. Found however you type it: full-width or half-width, with or without accents (cafe finds Café), one typo in a longer word (githbu finds GitHub), and for Chinese titles pinyin — initials, full pinyin or mixed (jd, jingdu, 京d) — and simplified or traditional characters alike. • Organize by dragging. Drag the handle to drop into any folder or between items; long lists scroll as you drag. Or press Alt + ↑ / ↓, which moves picked bookmarks together too. Sort any folder by name from its ⋯ menu: folders first, in your language's own order. • Organize many at once. Tick bookmarks (hover an icon, or press Space), then drag them together, move them with Alt + M by typing a folder name, or delete them — one Undo brings everything back. • Save a whole window. ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + D saves every open tab as a new folder; any folder opens back up in a new window from its ⋯ menu. • Delete without worry. No confirmation pop-ups: an Undo button appears for a few seconds and brings the item back, folders included, in the same place. • Open it your way. Click opens a new tab, Ctrl/⌘-click or middle-click opens it in the background, Shift-click opens a new window. • Drag a link in. Drag any link from a page, or the address from the address bar, onto a folder in the panel and it's saved right there. Or copy an address and press ⌘/Ctrl + V in the panel. • New folders where you need them: from a folder's ⋯ menu, or right inside the save dialog. • Opens instantly, even with tens of thousands of bookmarks. • Site icons from Chrome's own cache, light and dark mode, keyboard shortcuts for everything, in English, 简体中文, 繁體中文 and 日本語. Easier Bookmarks works directly with Chrome's own bookmarks, so everything stays in step with the bookmarks bar, the bookmark manager and Chrome Sync. There is nothing to import and nothing to set up. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads. The extension never sends your bookmarks or anything else anywhere. The optional "tabs" permission is requested only the first time you save the current page; it lets the panel read the active tab's title and address to save it and to show whether it's already saved, and, when you ask to save all tabs, the tabs in that window. That address never leaves your browser. The address-bar search needs no permission at all. KEYBOARD / or Ctrl/⌘ + K: search ↑ ↓: move the selection · → ←: open or close a folder Enter: open · Ctrl/⌘ + Enter: background tab · Shift + Enter: new window F2: edit · Delete: remove · Ctrl/⌘ + Z: undo · Alt + ↑ / ↓: move an item (or the selected ones) Space: select · Shift + ↑ / ↓: select a range · Ctrl/⌘ + A: select all in the folder · Alt + M: move to… Alt+B (Mac: Control+B): open the panel · ⌘/Ctrl + D: save the current page · ⌘/Ctrl + Shift + D: save all tabs · ⌘/Ctrl + V: save copied addresses b + space in the address bar: search bookmarks
