Earshot — free Discord translator, no limits

)Overview
Discord translator that runs on your own device using Chrome's built-in AI. No quotas, no account, no cloud. Genuinely free.
No daily limit. No account. No sign-up. Your messages never leave your computer. Earshot translates Discord as you read it. A message arrives in Portuguese, the English appears underneath it. That's the whole thing, and it keeps doing it, forever, without counting how many times you've used it today. Why it's free, properly, with no catch to find later Chrome 138 ships a translation model that runs on your own machine. Earshot uses that. There is no server in the middle, no API bill arriving at the end of the month, and so nothing for me to ration. Every other translator here pays per message to someone, which is exactly why they cap you at thirty a day and ask for a subscription. I don't have that problem, so you don't either. It also means it works offline, and that nothing you read or type is sent anywhere. Not to me, not to Google, not to anyone. There's no account to make, because there's nothing to attach one to. What you'll see The original message stays exactly where it is. The translation goes underneath, smaller, tagged with the language it came from Your typing is never touched. Not your message box, not your slash commands Code blocks, links, @mentions and emoji are left alone Only what's actually on your screen gets translated, so scrolling back through six months of a channel doesn't melt your laptop Languages you already read get skipped. If you speak Spanish, having Spanish translated at you is just noise Make it fit in: size, colour, italics, language tag on or off The part nobody else does: what you've picked up Sit in a server long enough and you stop being someone who can't read it. You start half-reading it before the translation appears. Nothing anywhere reflects that back at you, so Earshot counts it: how many messages you've read, in which languages, and the words your servers won't stop saying, with how many times you've met each one. Tap any word to see what it means. It's free for everyone, counted on your machine and nowhere else, and one button wipes the lot. Saying something back Type your reply in your own language, press Alt+T, and Earshot shows you it in theirs. You read it, you decide, and you press enter yourself — it never sends anything for you, ever. Or press Alt+Shift+V and just say it out loud, and it writes it out in their language. You get five of those free and three voice ones, no card and nothing to start, because a feature list is a promise and you can't tell from a promise whether something will change how you use Discord. What costs money £5.99, once. No subscription, nothing that expires, nothing to cancel. It unlocks replying without limit, plus Reddit, X, Telegram Web and WhatsApp Web, saved phrases, a per-server language, and a history of what was said earlier. Reading Discord stays free forever and never gets worse to push you toward paying. That's not a launch offer, it's the point. Honest limits, because you'll find them anyway Needs Chrome 138 or newer, on desktop. Not phone, not tablet discord.com in your browser, not the Discord desktop app. Extensions can't run inside that app, and this is the number one reason someone thinks it's broken The first message in a new language downloads that language pack once. After that it's instant, forever, offline Chrome covers around 39 languages so far, not every language It can't caption voice channels. Chrome's speech recognition only hears your own microphone, not other people's audio. I'd rather say that than sell you a feature that half works Permissions Storage, to keep your settings on your machine. Access to the chat sites it translates. That's it — it does not ask to read your browsing history, and if you compare that to the other extensions on this page, that's a deliberate difference. Built by a computer science student who got tired of lurking in servers she couldn't read. Something wrong, or a language mangled? Tell me and I'll fix it.
