The extension processes that tab's audio in real time using the Web Audio API. Note: this is an independent rewrite inspired by the original "Ears" extension by Kevin King. The bundled headphone profiles are generated from the AutoEq project by Jaakko Pasanen (MIT license), with a +3 dB bass boost and +3 dB target max gain.
