Earning Now
Overview
Watch your salary tick up in real time. Live badge on your toolbar, plus three nudges a day.
Earning Now puts your salary on your browser toolbar and counts it up, in real time, all day. Set your pay and your hours once. From then on, the badge on your toolbar shows exactly what you have earned so far today updating every minute, whether or not you have the popup open. WHAT YOU GET - A live badge on your toolbar. Glance up, see the number. No clicking required. - A per-second ticker in the popup, with your effective hourly rate and how much of the day is left. - Three nudges a day, timed proportionally to your workday a morning check-in, a past-halfway mark, and an end-of-day total. Each one comes with a fact putting the number in perspective. - Works with any schedule. A 7am-3pm day gets its milestones at the right moments, not at someone else's idea of "lunch." - Yearly salary or hourly rate. Both work. - Weekdays-only mode, on by default. THE HONEST MATH If you enter a yearly salary, your hourly rate is your salary divided by 52 weeks, 5 days, and the hours you actually said you work. So if you put in 10-hour days, your real hourly is lower than the standard assumption and Earning Now tells you that instead of pretending otherwise. PRIVACY Nothing leaves your device. There is no server, no account, no analytics, and no network call of any kind. Your salary is stored in your own browser and nowhere else. The permissions requested are storage (to remember your settings), alarms (to time the nudges), and notifications (to show them). It is a simple thing. It is also very hard to stop looking at.
