Earnest is a earnings tool for ChatGPT users. While ChatGPT generates a response, Earnest optionally displays a single sponsored card chosen by the user paying them 50% of the advertiser's cost-per-view directly. HOW IT WORKS - When ChatGPT begins generating, Earnest prompts the user to start - If the user taps "Start earning", a single sponsored card appears - The card disappears automatically after the response completes - The user earns 50% of the advertiser's cost-per-view rate USER CONTROL - Per-session: users choose Start or Not Now each time - Global: a Settings toggle lets users disable sponsored moments entirely - Every card is labeled "Sponsored · Earnest" at all times EARNINGS - Earnings are recorded per verified view - Balance is visible in the extension popup - Full earnings history is available at earnest-rho.vercel.app PRIVACY - Only runs on chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com - No browsing history collected - No conversation content accessed or stored - User email and view counts stored securely via Supabase PERMISSIONS USED - storage: saves user session, earnings, and consent preferences locally - tabs: detects when the user is on a supported AI page to enable features
