RedBroccoli: Lecture Concept Maps
Overview
Build a study concept map — key terms, definitions, prerequisites and timestamps — from the lecture video you are watching.
Study the concepts, not the whole transcript. RedBroccoli builds a concept map of the lecture you're watching on YouTube. Click Build map in the side panel to get: • The key terms of the lecture, each with a one-line definition • How they fit together: what is part of what, and what you need to know first • A timestamp on every concept. Click it to jump to where it is explained • A zoomable mind map view • Download plain-language lecture notes (.md): one chapter per concept, with timestamps and links for self-study • Read-more links for every concept: Wikipedia, YouTube explainers, Khan Academy and more • Copy as Markdown (for Obsidian or Notion, with timestamp links) or as a Mermaid diagram • Save the lecture's subtitles as .srt (with timing) or readable .txt Maps are saved in your browser, so reopening a lecture shows its map instantly. Needs a free API key from an AI provider. RedBroccoli works with Google Gemini, Mistral, Groq, OpenRouter or DeepSeek. Add one or more keys in Settings; when one provider runs out of free quota, the next one takes over. The video's title and transcript are sent to the provider only when you press Build map. RedBroccoli has no server and collects no analytics. Works with videos that have captions (auto-generated captions are fine). If captions can't be read automatically, you can paste the transcript yourself.
