Overview

Puts Flash back on the web where it belongs.

Timffle plays Flash (SWF) games and animations right in Chrome, with no Adobe Flash Player to install. Timffle is a Flash emulator based on the open-source project Ruffle. It finds Flash content on the pages you open and plays it with an emulator that ships inside the extension, written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. Everything runs inside the browser's sandbox; no plug-in is needed. MAIN FEATURES • Plays Flash on web pages: Flash content embedded with <object> or <embed> plays in its original place, and the page's own scripts can talk to it as they did with Flash Player. • Opens .swf addresses directly: when you open a .swf file in the address bar, it plays in the extension's player page instead of being downloaded. You can turn this off in the options. • Online game connections (optional): some online Flash games need TCP (socket) connections, which a web page cannot open. You can install the separate Timffle connection helper (Windows, macOS, Linux) so these games can reach their servers. When a game needs it, Timffle shows a window, and its "Download the installer" button picks the right file for your system. • You decide which sites may connect: the first time a website asks for a connection, Timffle asks you. Allow or deny just this time, or choose "always allow" or "always deny". Taomee Taiwan's four game sites (摩爾莊園, 賽爾號, 小花仙, 彈彈堂) are allowed by default; you can remove them in the options. Advanced users can use their own WebSocket proxy instead. • Fixes for Taiwanese Flash web games: better Chinese text display, plus Flash 3D features such as perspective and Matrix3D. • Interface in 36 languages, including English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese. • Game progress is kept: data that games save through Flash is stored by the browser in that website's local storage. HOW TO USE 1. Install Timffle. 2. Open a web page with Flash content; it plays right in the page. 3. If an online game needs a connection, download and install the connection helper when Timffle asks, then press "Continue" to reload the game. 4. Click the Timffle icon in the toolbar to open the popup and change settings for the current site; more options are on the options page. WHO IT IS FOR • People who want to replay Flash games or animations that today's browsers no longer support. • Players of Taiwanese Flash web games that need game connections. • Anyone with the address of a .swf file who wants to open it directly in the browser. PRIVACY • No accounts, no sign-in. • No analytics, crash reporting, ads or tracking; the developer runs no server that receives data from the extension. • Settings stay in Chrome's extension storage; if Chrome sync is on, Chrome syncs them through your Google account. • Game connections go straight from your computer to the game server, never through the developer's servers, and their content is not stored or analysed. • Full privacy policy: https://timffle.com/privacy/extension/ DISCLOSURE: AFFILIATE CODE In the English and Chinese interface, the options page and the popup show the discount code LOGITIM for Logitech's official online store in Taiwan. When you buy with this code, Timffle's author earns a commission. The store opens only when you click the link; the picture is part of the extension, nothing is loaded from the internet, and clicks are not recorded.
