e-Comments

I love this extension. It took a little bit of time to figure it out, but once I did, I cut my grading time in half, and as a high school teacher grading a hundred essays, that really adds up. I mostly use my own customized comments for a Spanish for Native Speakers class. I also lead workshops to support new and veteran teachers, and while I really don't like talking about paid/commercial products, I never hesitate to bring up this tool. This is generally fine and has been very useful in the past, but has now ceased to function in google docs. It just doesn't load :(

This is a great extension. For me as a teacher it works perfectly. It´s easy to use and after having created your own comments, you can use it for many (all?) subjects. Some months ago I had some problem. I contacted the team and I got very quick support althouht it was at a Saturday! (Tt showed up that it was due to a google update). I really would recommand this program and I am very happy that I found out about this addon.

An incomparable time saver for annotating student essays. Custom comments are easily added and modified, and each generation of this extension has improved significantly upon the last. Truly excellent.

Good concept. Interface looks like it's from the 80s. It would be great if you could edit the prepopulated comments instead of only adding your own. Also, the option to edit the comment prior to posting allows the opportunity to personalize the feedback. Overall, not good enough to replace the Canned Comments feature in Google Classroom (which is FREE).

Chris, You certainly can edit (add, delete, substitute) the prepopulated comments, by right-clicking each comment. Add full formatting, as well. Great instructional resource for professors to quickly navigate student papers and provide accurate writing issues.

Fantastic option for inserting canned responses into Google Drive documents with ease. Not only is this useful as a teacher for grading but I could see this as being a great professional resource too for others. Keep up the great work guys!

I was able to get the extension up and running during the 7 day trial and I purchased the license right away. I'd recommend this for any educator who uses Google Docs for assignments. However, I am having similar problems to others in the comments. I also was unable to us E-comments with my school's email domain/Google account, but I WAS able to use it with my personal, non-school account. Adam, Thanks for your positive and informative response. Apologies on the neglectful lack of support emails. Just discovered this secondary support account and will respond to all, including your personal request. Yes, district firewalls and restrictions re: in-app purchases require work-arounds, such as you figured out by switching to your personal Chrome account. The in-ability to complete in-app purchase of e-Comments is still a problem we are working on to solve. Google payments is a work-in-progress.

This is an amazing extension. It not only allows you to grade quickly using ACTIONABLE feedback, but it also allows you to leave video and audio feedback all in one place! AWESOME! And the creators are very hands-on with feedback! A great experience so far!
