Duplicate Tab Guard warns you when a newly opened tab navigates to a page that is already open, so you can switch to the existing tab or intentionally keep another copy. It also provides on-demand duplicate cleanup from the toolbar: review matching open pages and close newer duplicate tabs while retaining the oldest observed tab in each group. Features: - Detects exact matching HTTP and HTTPS addresses across all browser windows. - Lets you switch to an existing tab or continue with a duplicate when you need it. - Finds and closes newer duplicate tabs only when you request cleanup. - Treats paths, query strings, protocols, and URL fragments as distinct. - Handles redirecting links using navigation intent, without adding a fixed delay. - Uses an event-driven Manifest V3 service worker with no content scripts. Your browsing data stays local. Duplicate Tab Guard processes the addresses and titles of currently open tabs only to detect, switch, and clean up duplicates. It stores a small tab-order record in session-only browser storage and clears it when Chrome restarts. It has no accounts, analytics, advertising, remote services, or remote code, and it never sends your browsing information to the developer or another party. Warnings apply to the first web navigation of newly created tabs. Navigations in tabs that were already open are not intercepted.
