Duplicate Download Blocker notices when you're about to download a file you already have, and lets you know before your Downloads folder fills up with report(1).pdf, report(2).pdf, and report(3).pdf. Every completed download is checked against your own local history using two signals: an exact match on the source link, and a match on filename plus file size for cases where the link changes but the file doesn't (like an expiring cloud storage link). When a match is found, you get a notification with two choices — open the file you already have, or remove the new duplicate. Everything happens on your device. The extension makes no network requests, collects no data, and sends nothing anywhere.
