Overview

Dual subtitles for YouTube & Netflix in two languages at once. Learn from videos you already watch — one-tap word saving. Free.

Dual subtitles for YouTube and Netflix — and every new word can stay with you. Understand a line, save the word in one tap, and build a vocabulary as you watch. Lingogram shows your target language and your native language together on any YouTube or Netflix video that has captions. See a line, understand it instantly, and keep watching — no pausing every few seconds to look things up. These bilingual subtitles (also called dual or double subtitles) turn the hours you already spend watching into real progress in the language you're learning. Most subtitle tools stop at translation. Lingogram is built around active recall: an interactive transcript, a listen-first Guess mode, and one-tap word saving turn passive watching into practice, so what you watch actually stays with you. Your listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and reading all improve while you watch videos you already like. HOW IT WORKS 1. Install Lingogram. 2. Pick your target language and a second subtitle language (a quick one-time setup). 3. Open a YouTube or Netflix video that has captions. 4. Press play — both languages appear together. When a video already has caption tracks in both of your languages, Lingogram pairs them directly. On YouTube, if one is missing it fills the second track using YouTube's automatic translation, so you still get the dual-subtitle view. Automatic translations aren't perfect, but they keep you moving. WHY IT STICKS DUAL SUBTITLES Your target language and your native one on screen at the same time. Catch new words without pausing to look things up. When you're ready, hide the translation and start really listening — dual subtitles are training wheels, and Lingogram helps you take them off. INTERACTIVE TRANSCRIPT The interactive transcript scrolls with the video on its own. Click any line to jump back and replay it. Looping one short clip ("narrow listening") is how sounds you can't parse yet turn into words you instantly recognize. GUESS MODE — LISTENING PRACTICE Words start hidden: catch the line by ear first, then reveal it to check yourself. This listen-first loop makes you recall the line cold — that's what builds listening you can rely on, instead of subtitles you only read along to. Toggle it anytime with Shift + G. SAVE WORDS WHILE YOU WATCH Highlight any word or phrase in the subtitles and save it in one tap — the selection snaps to whole words, so there's no pixel-perfect dragging. Lingogram also keeps the lines around it, so you can review each word in its original context. A counter tracks how many you've saved. Saving is optional — sign in to a free Lingogram account and your saved words sync across your devices. RELIABLE, AND PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • Works on any YouTube or Netflix video that has subtitles, including in fullscreen — the floating overlay keeps both languages on screen. • Built to keep working. YouTube and Netflix change often; when something breaks, one click on the video reports it so we can fix it fast. • No telemetry, no tracking. Your language and layout settings are stored locally in your browser. Nothing about what you watch leaves your device. ALSO BUILT FOR FOCUSED STUDY • Overlay mode — pop the subtitles into a small panel on top of the video so you can focus on the words (Shift + O). • Instant language switch — flip your primary and secondary languages with one shortcut (Shift + S). • Pick your tracks — when a video has several caption tracks, choose which one is primary and which is secondary. • Fullscreen — keep your subtitles on screen even in fullscreen, with the floating overlay panel. • Sync across tabs — your language and layout settings stay in sync across all your open tabs. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS • Shift + D — toggle dual subtitles • Shift + S — swap subtitle languages • Shift + G — toggle Guess mode • Shift + O — toggle overlay mode REAL SPEECH, NOT TEXTBOOK DIALOGUES Textbook audio is scripted and slow. Lingogram puts you in front of the language people actually speak: • podcasts and interviews • movie clips and trailers • news and documentaries • travel and gaming vlogs • educational channels Hear the language the way native speakers use it — on regular videos, YouTube Shorts, and Netflix shows alike. WHO IT'S FOR • If you watch YouTube or Netflix and want to understand it without pausing for the dictionary — this is built for you. • Learners at every level, from beginner to advanced. • Expats and immigrants sharpening their everyday listening. • Students preparing for IELTS, TOEFL, DELE, DELF, JLPT, or TOPIK. • Professionals who need the language for work or study. • Self-learners who would rather learn a language from real videos than a textbook. Learning English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Italian, Portuguese, or dozens of other languages? It works the same way: press play. SAVING & PRIVACY Subtitles, transcript, and practice work right away. Saving words uses a Lingogram account: we collect the email you sign in with and store your saved words (with their surrounding subtitle lines) so you can review them across devices. We never sell your data or use it for anything else. Your language and layout settings stay on your device, and nothing about what you watch leaves it. — — — Dual subtitles for YouTube and Netflix, plus the practice that makes them stick. Install Lingogram — it's free, and it works on the next captioned video you watch.
