Dual Subtitles & Shadowing for Netflix brings bilingual subtitles, sentence replay, slower listening and word lookup into your viewing routine. Spend less time scrubbing the timeline and more time listening closely and speaking along. Two subtitles, one clear view Display two original subtitle tracks together: the language you are learning and another language to help you understand it. The primary track guides sentence practice; the secondary track adds a useful reference. Adjust each line's size, opacity and position independently. Move to a subtitle's edge to drag it, or use a corner handle to resize the text. A center guide helps with alignment, and you can keep the current subtitles visible while paused. Controls stay in the browser side panel, alongside your viewing. Hear a line. Make time to say it. Replay the current subtitle segment, then imitate the original pronunciation, rhythm and intonation. Move to the previous or next segment without searching the timeline again. Choose one of three modes: free play, pause at the end, or loop the current sentence. End pause gives you space to speak. Sentence looping, with an adjustable speaking gap, helps you return to the same line and practice it again. Give difficult lines a little more time Replay the current line once at 0.75x or 0.5x speed. Playback pauses at the end and returns to the previous speed. Start again whenever you need to, or jump backwards and forwards by a number of seconds you choose. Look up words in either subtitle line Select a word, phrase or sentence in either subtitle line to see an AI-generated meaning or translation. During the trial, click or deliberately select text; with VIP, hover over a word or select text. By default, lookup translates between your two subtitle languages in both directions. You can also choose a target language yourself. English entries can include available British and American phonetic transcriptions, with separate pronunciation buttons. Other languages use available voices for the original text. There are no translation or speech API keys for you to configure. Designed to fit your practice Keep playback controls, practice modes and settings together in a persistent side panel. Make the shortcuts your own and choose a light, dark or system-matched appearance. Subtitle styles, practice preferences and shortcuts are stored in your current browser profile and survive normal restarts. Back up and restore your settings, with a confirmation before resetting them. Export a backup before reinstalling or changing browser profiles. Get started 1. Install the extension and open a Netflix title you are entitled to watch in desktop Chrome. 2. Open the extension's side panel, choose your primary and secondary subtitle languages, and wait for the available tracks to load. 3. Adjust the two lines to suit your screen. Dual subtitles are free to use. 4. To use practice tools, lookup or pronunciation, start your daily trial in Membership or enter a valid VIP code. 5. Choose end pause or sentence looping. Listen again, slow a difficult line down, and speak along. Default shortcuts S: replay the current line A / D: previous / next line Q / W: end pause / sentence loop Z / X: replay once at 0.75x / 0.5x Shift + Left / Right: jump backwards / forwards by the configured interval, 3 seconds by default These shortcuts work on the focused Netflix playback page, not while typing. You can change them in settings. Free subtitles, a daily trial and VIP Dual original subtitles, track selection and subtitle appearance controls are free. Sentence practice, slower replay, looping, end pause, extension playback shortcuts, online lookup and pronunciation are paid VIP features, available through a daily timed trial as well. You can actively start one 15-minute trial per local day. The timer runs continuously from the moment you start it, including while paused, switching tabs or closing the page. Trials and online services are subject to usage and anti-abuse limits. During the trial, click or deliberately select text to look it up. There is no extension password account to create. Starting a trial or binding a VIP code establishes the necessary system-generated device identity. Manage access in Membership and use your VIP code to restore it after reinstalling or on another device. One VIP supports up to two registered devices, with one in use at a time. Public online purchasing is not open yet. You can use free dual subtitles, the daily trial, or an existing valid VIP code. When purchasing becomes available, plans, prices and payment methods will be shown in Membership and at checkout. Languages and availability The complete interface currently supports English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Interface language, subtitle languages and lookup targets are separate settings. Localized store listings do not mean that the full interface is available in every listing language. You need your own Netflix access. Subtitle choices depend on the title and the tracks currently available; the extension does not generate missing subtitle languages. Sentence practice follows subtitle timing. When a full timeline is unavailable and subtitles must be recorded as they appear, navigation and pause timing may be limited. AI meanings, translations and phonetic transcriptions can be inaccurate; check them in context. Online lookup and pronunciation require an internet connection, and speech availability depends on supported languages and voices. About your data Subtitle display and preferences are handled locally in your browser. Online lookup and pronunciation send the text you choose, language settings and necessary authentication information to our service, with the relevant text processed by service providers.
