Drive Visibility Banner
Overview
Shows a color-coded banner indicating the sharing/visibility level of the current Google Drive folder.
Ever accidentally shared a sensitive folder with the wrong people? Drive Visibility Banner adds a color-coded banner to every Google Drive folder so you always know its sharing level without digging through settings. HOW IT WORKS When you open any folder in Google Drive, a banner appears showing the current visibility level: Green (Private): Only you can view these files Light Green (Internal): Shared with people in your organization Amber (Org-wide): Anyone in your organization can find and access this folder Light Red (External): Shared with people outside your organization Deep Red (Public): Anyone on the internet with the link can access these files Click the extension icon for a detailed breakdown of exactly who has access, including their role (Owner, Editor, Viewer, etc.) and whether they're internal or external. KEY FEATURES - Color-coded banner injected directly into the Google Drive UI - Five visibility levels from private to public, prioritized by risk - Popup panel with full permissions breakdown - Fast — results are cached for 5 minutes - Read-only access — cannot modify, delete, or download your files - Works with My Drive, Shared Drives, and nested folders PRIVACY This extension only requests read-only access to Drive file metadata (drive.metadata.readonly). It never reads file contents, and all data stays local in your browser. No data is collected or transmitted to any external server.
