Driftwatch
Overview
Tracks how often you visit sites outside your approved list, so you can see how much you're drifting off task.
Driftwatch turns "how much time did I waste today" into one honest number. List up to 10 sites you consider on-task — your inbox, your docs, your team chat. Everything else you visit gets tallied. No judgment, no lockouts, no blocking — just a running count of how often you left the list, right on the toolbar icon. WHAT IT SHOWS • A live badge on the toolbar icon with today's off-list visit count, color-coded green/amber/red • A 7-day trend so one bad afternoon doesn't look identical to a bad week • Today's top "distracting" domains, so the number comes with a reason • Your lifetime total, if you want the long view • An optional daily goal — set a ceiling and the badge warns you as you approach it HOW IT COUNTS Reloading a tab or sitting on the same page doesn't add to the tally — only a genuine navigation to a new domain that isn't on your approved list counts. Approve a domain like google.com and its subdomains (mail.google.com, docs.google.com) are covered automatically. PRIVACY Driftwatch only ever stores a domain name and a count, in your browser's local storage. Nothing is transmitted anywhere, there's no account, no analytics, no third-party server.
