Overview
Side-window drift while waiting on AI responses.
Drift is a tiny productivity extension for one very specific problem: waiting on AI responses and doom-scrolling instead. When an AI is thinking, you usually do one of three things: stare at the screen, open random tabs, or fall into reels and forget why you opened the browser. Drift handles that dead time for you. While the AI is generating, it automatically lets you scroll, watch, or chill. The second the response is ready, it snaps you back. No tab juggling. No “wait what was I doing again.” This isn’t a distraction app. It’s a waiting app. Drift only runs on LLM websites. Everything stays local. It doesn’t read your prompts, your responses, or your browsing. There’s no account, no tracking, no engagement farming. It’s not trying to keep you hooked. It’s trying to give you your brain back. You set it up once, tweak it to your taste, and then forget it exists. It doesn’t nag you. It doesn’t gamify your attention. It just quietly eats the empty seconds that normally turn into 20 minutes of scrolling. Drift is for people who live in AI tabs: students, developers, researchers, builders, and anyone who’s tired of pretending they won’t open reels while waiting. If you care about staying in flow but accept reality, Drift fits in and stays out of the way.
