Dress Aloud puts the clothes you are looking at onto your own full-body photo and then tells you, honestly, how it looks and whether it will fit. It was built with and for blind and low-vision shoppers, and everything it says is written to be heard through a screen reader. HOW IT WORKS 1. Add Dress Aloud. It opens once. If you already use Dress Aloud in this browser, it signs itself in and brings your photo and measurements across; there is nothing to type. If not, it asks for your access code and your full-body photo. That is the whole setup. 2. Browse any clothing store. When you land on a clothing page, your screen reader hears: "Dress Aloud: this looks like clothing. Press Alt plus Shift plus D to try it on." 3. Press Alt+Shift+D (or the toolbar button). The side panel opens and the try-on starts by itself: the picture is made, then described honestly: the bottom line, the fit, the color, the drawbacks. If you gave a size, the store link opens with that size selected. WHAT IT TELLS YOU - One plain verdict first: buy it, buy a different size, a word of caution, or do not buy. Then the reasons, with the store's size chart checked against your own height, weight and measurements. Every number it says is checked against the page and your measurements; anything it cannot support is removed, and it tells you so. - A return-risk line, low, medium or high, before the store link, worked out from the chart, the fabric and what fit you at that brand before. - The size chart read aloud as sentences, and a sold-out size said plainly. - It remembers what fit you at each brand, asks you a week later whether the purchase fit, and can watch an item and tell you when your size is back or the price drops. - Ask a sighted friend: send one picture and the verdict by a private link and hear their reply read back. - "Would it go with my gray jeans?" Pair it with something you own, or press Talk and say what you want. - Several tabs open? Alt+Shift+O gathers them into one outfit: one picture, one verdict per piece. WHY IT IS DIFFERENT - No copying links. Dress Aloud reads the page you are on, as your browser sees it, including stores that block automatic readers. - Honest, not flattering. Every step is announced; nothing depends on seeing the screen. - Ask follow-up questions about the try-on, hear it again in the voice you choose, and keep a history.
