DrawingCheck — Drawing Metadata Review

Overview
Check PDF drawing numbers, titles, revisions and filenames. Review discrepancies and export a drawing register, locally.
DrawingCheck helps architects, engineers, contractors, document controllers, and other construction professionals review PDF drawing metadata before drawings are issued or submitted. Instead of manually checking every sheet, DrawingCheck extracts key information from uploaded PDF drawings and presents it in a structured review workspace. You can review: • Drawing numbers • Drawing titles • Revision codes • File names • Duplicate drawing numbers • Missing revisions • Metadata discrepancies • Source verification status Each drawing can be opened beside its extracted information so you can compare the detected metadata directly with the original sheet. DrawingCheck can also help you correct missing revision information by adding reviewed text to a copy of the PDF. Your original source file remains unchanged. Drawing register After reviewing a drawing package, export a CSV drawing register containing the reviewed sheet information and identified issues. This can reduce repetitive manual checking when preparing: • Architectural drawing sets • Structural drawing packages • MEP drawings • Construction issue packages • Tender drawing sets • Permit submissions • As-built drawing packages • Drawing registers and document-control records Local processing DrawingCheck is designed around local processing. PDF files are processed on your computer using code included with the extension. The current version does not require an account and does not upload your drawing files to a DrawingCheck server. Selected PDFs and extracted review information may be stored locally in your Chrome profile so you can work with the drawing package inside the extension. Review-first workflow DrawingCheck is intended to assist with document checking, not replace professional review. Extracted drawing numbers, titles, revisions, and other metadata should always be verified against the source drawing before issue. Typical workflow: 1. Open DrawingCheck. 2. Select or drag in your PDF drawing files. 3. Review the automatically extracted drawing metadata. 4. Open sheets that are flagged for review. 5. Compare extracted information with the source drawing. 6. Correct or confirm the drawing information. 7. Mark reviewed sheets as verified. 8. Export the completed drawing register. DrawingCheck is useful when you need a faster, more organized way to check drawing packages before submission without uploading project drawings to a cloud service.
