Overview
Capture radio songs into private playlists, export them, or sync selected playlists to Notion.
Song Archaeology turns a song playing in your browser into a private, organised record. Open the side panel from a supported radio player, review the detected title, artist and station, choose a playlist, and save. When curiosity strikes, ask Song Archaeology to retrieve sourced catalogue facts and a short factual story from Wikipedia and Wikidata. Research never runs unless you request it. Your collection is local first: - Keep one master library in Chrome. - Choose a playlist for each capture or automatically route songs by radio station. - Export all playlists or one selected playlist as full-fidelity JSON, analysis-friendly CSV, or readable HTML. - Restore a JSON backup without replacing existing captures. - Correct song details, move captures between playlists, add private notes, and archive or restore records. - Permanently remove a local capture after an explicit confirmation. - Optionally create and map private Notion playlist pages. - Keep the Notion token encrypted at rest behind a passphrase. Version 0.2.1 directly recognises RTL, RTL2, Fun Radio and Radio Jackie players. It also detects compatible browser Media Session and standard “now playing” metadata on other sites. When a player cannot be detected, the panel says “Radio not supported yet” and its user-invoked “Notify developer” button opens a pre-addressed support email draft. No Song Archaeology account is required. The extension contains no advertising or analytics and does not send the local library to Song Archaeology servers.
