plain — The answer, without the runaround

plain puts the answer near the top of supported articles, with the context that matters and a collapsed link to the original headline and source. Use the toolbar button, or enable automatic answers on supported sites. The website is free to read and ad-free. The extension is a paid convenience layer at EUR24 per year; an active subscription and a pairing code from your plain account are required. Works on supported articles already covered by plain. Check the supported sites on plain’s website before subscribing. Copies on other websites may not be supported. Automated evidence checks and review do not guarantee the original reporting is correct; attribution and source links remain available. For lookups, the extension sends the current supported article URL, its canonical URL when available, and its pairing token to plain over HTTPS. It does not upload article text or read the browser’s full history database. Automatic lookup runs only on supported sites the user enables. No ads or third-party analytics are included.
