Audit page images, inspect individual images, pick colours and detect fonts — by Journey Further
Pixelcheck is a Chrome extension built by Journey Further for SEO analysts, web developers, and designers. It provides three powerful tools for auditing and inspecting web pages: IMAGE AUDIT Scan all images on any page with one click. Each image gets a colour-coded overlay (red/amber/green) showing how oversized it is relative to its displayed size. The audit detects: - File size and format (with next-gen format flagging for WebP/AVIF) - Alt text presence and quality - Priority loading signals (preload, fetchpriority, eager loading) - Lazy loading detection - File size detection that works even on CDN-hosted images Export a full CSV report with all image data, or export just missing alt text URLs for quick fixes. IMAGE INSPECTOR Right-click any image and select "Pixelcheck - Inspect image" to see: - Natural vs displayed dimensions - File size and format - Alt text - Image URL with one-click copy COLOUR PICKER & BRAND TOOLS - Use the native eyedropper to sample any pixel on screen - Scan the entire page to detect all background, text, and accent colours in use - View colour history across sessions - Detect all fonts actively used on the page (categorised as web or system fonts)
