Dozy Tabs
Overview
Puts idle YouTube tabs to sleep so they stop using memory and CPU, and picks up where you left off
Dozy Tabs puts the YouTube tabs you're not using to sleep, so they stop using memory and CPU in the background. YouTube keeps its tabs busy all the time, meaning that the browser's tab sleeping/suspend process tends to skip them **Functionalities:** - Paused (or finished) videos in background tabs go to sleep after 30 minutes (you can change the timer!) - Videos that you open in another tab (when you open it but stay where you were, like with middle click) go to sleep as soon as they load. You open them in the background for a reason! - When you come back to a sleeping tab, the video picks up where you left it (even livestreams) - Sleeping tabs show 💤 on the YouTube icon to notice which ones are - And also, most things are configurable so you can customize your experience **Keep awake:** *(tabs that won't go to sleep if they fit any of this points)* - The active tab in each window - Anything playing, muted or not - Pinned tabs - YouTube Music - Tabs with a comment you haven't sent yet - Every tab while you're offline (off by default, but just in case you experience usual network issues) You can keep a tab awake, put every idle tab to sleep at once, or turn Dozy Tabs off from its popup, from its button in YouTube's top bar, or from the right-click menu on a YouTube page (in the page itself, anywhere without any link) **Privacy** Dozy Tabs doesn't collect or send anything, and it only asks for access to youtube.com. All the code is public, so you can check it yourself on the extension's page
