Doze – Smart Tab Sleeper

Too many tabs making Chrome slow? Doze puts the tabs you aren't using to sleep, so Chrome gives their memory back. A sleeping tab stays in your tab strip and reloads the moment you click it. Doze doesn't just guess. Every tab shows why it can sleep: when you last used it, whether it's a duplicate, whether it's heavy or busy in the background. WHAT IT DOES • Ranks every open tab and suggests which ones can sleep • Sleeps tabs in one click, one by one, or with shortcuts (⌥⇧S sleeps the tabs you've selected, ⌥⇧O sleeps the rest of the window) • Auto-sleeps tabs you haven't touched for a while (you pick how long) • Finds duplicate tabs and closes the extra copies • Shows your computer's memory and CPU, and measures how much memory each action actually freed • Keeps an activity log with Undo for an hour • Learns: if you reopen a tab right after Doze slept it, that site gets more time next time • Opens as a popup or in Chrome's side panel, with search and full keyboard control HUNGER METER (OPTIONAL) Turn it on to see 1–4 dots on every tab, based on the page's real memory use and background work. Tabs with a half-written message are never slept, so you don't lose your typing. The meter only measures. It never reads out or sends page content or what you type. NEVER SLEPT AUTOMATICALLY The tab you're on, tabs playing audio, tabs with unsaved typing, pinned tabs (optional) and sites you choose to keep awake.
