Download Video OSS finds the videos on the page you are on and saves them as a normal MP4 file. Everything runs in your browser: no server, no account, no tracking. What it does • Detects videos on any site: direct files, HLS streams and split video + audio streams, including players that hide their source. Start playback, open the popup, pick the video. • Saves real, seekable MP4 files. Streamed segments are rebuilt into a standard MP4 that plays and scrubs correctly in any player. • Shows a thumbnail, title and duration for each detected video. Select several and download them together, with progress on each one. • Built-in clip editor: drag start and end handles on a timeline, preview the selection, nudge by single frames with the keyboard, then export as MP4, WebM (VP9, AV1 or VP8), GIF or MP3. Choose a quality level or a target file size and the encoder aims for it. Save your settings as presets. • Helpers for unusual sites: pick the player on the page, paste a stream URL, or copy a diagnostics report. Not supported A few sites sign each video for their own player, so no extension can fetch those streams. YouTube is the main one. For those, use a desktop tool such as yt-dlp (https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp). Everything else works without it, and you can always open a local file with "Clip a file" to trim or convert it.
