Good stuff, this actually works for permanently closing the download shelf/bar.

Works very well. I wish it had a way of telling download speed and progress. I would rather allow a temporary shelf than have no feedback, but a dynamic toolbar icon would be ideal.

Exactly what I wanted. Stops the (very annoying) Download shelf from appearing. Does not affect download location or recent download information. Brilliant!
