Download Accelerator for GitHub
Overview
Speed up GitHub downloads (releases, archives, raw files) via gh-proxy style mirrors, with speed tests and prefix switching.
Downloading GitHub releases, archives and raw files can be slow or unreliable in some regions. This extension rewrites those download links to "accelerator prefix + original URL" so that gh-proxy style mirrors serve them. - Automatic: release assets, source archives / tag snapshots, raw files and gists (each can be toggled). Normal GitHub browsing is unaffected. - Multiple prefixes: several built-in gh-proxy nodes, plus any service that accepts "prefix + full URL". - Speed test: measure latency and throughput in one click and sort by result. "Auto (fastest)" mode re-tests periodically and switches automatically. - Escape hatch: Alt+click or "Download directly" in the context menu bypasses the proxy. - Context menu: download via proxy, download directly, copy accelerated link. - Import / export settings; settings sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers. This is an independent project, not affiliated with GitHub or gh-proxy. Downloads are served by the public mirror you choose.
