Double Click Close Tab
Overview
Close any tab by double left-clicking on the page
Close the current tab by double-clicking empty space on a web page. Double Click Close Tab is a lightweight, open-source Chrome extension for users who want a faster way to close tabs without aiming for the tab close button. Features: • Double-click empty page space to close the current tab • Simple on/off toggle from the toolbar popup • Protection against accidental closes: - ignores links, buttons, inputs, editable fields, audio/video elements, and other interactive targets - does not trigger while text is being selected • Minimal and privacy-friendly: - no analytics - no tracking - no external requests How it works: The extension listens for double-clicks on ordinary webpage content. When the click happens on a non-interactive empty area, it requests Chrome to close the current tab. Open source: This extension is open source. Source code and project page: https://github.com/sssstf0rest/Double-Click-Close-Tab Limitations: • Does not work on chrome:// pages • Does not work on the Chrome Web Store • Does not work on about:blank • Does not work on the browser tab strip itself • Tabs that were already open before installation may need to be reloaded once
