Overview

Save any article to Doomreader in one click, then read it as swipeable cards that count toward your daily reading streak.

Doomreader is a reading app for people who save more than they read. This extension is the quick way in from your computer: when you find an article you want to read, save it, and it waits for you in Doomreader. How it works - Click the Doomreader button in your toolbar to save the page you are on. - Or right-click any page or link and choose Save to Doomreader. - Or press Alt+Shift+S (you can change it in your browser's extension shortcuts). Then actually read it. In Doomreader, a saved article becomes short cards you swipe through, one screen at a time, with your place kept. A long essay turns into a few small sittings. Every card you read counts toward your daily reading streak, the same as a book. What you need - A free Doomreader account. The first time, the extension opens Doomreader in a tab: sign in and tap Connect. - Without Pro you can save 50 articles a month, the same allowance as saving in the app. Pro keeps up to 5,000 and syncs them across your devices. What it can and cannot do - It can save a link to your Doomreader account. That is all it can do. - It never gets your password or your sign-in. Doomreader gives it a key that only saves links, and you can disconnect it at any time from your account page in Doomreader. - It reads nothing on the pages you visit. When you save, it sends that one page's address to Doomreader. Other ways to save: paste a link in the app, share a link from any Android app, forward newsletters to your own Doomreader address, or import from Pocket, Instapaper or Omnivore.
