Send tabs, links, text and files to your phone by scanning a QR code. And send photos and files back from your phone to your computer. Direct, encrypted, no account, no app to install. QRDrop opens in Chrome's side panel and shows a QR code. Scan it with your phone's camera, approve the device on your computer, and you're connected. Everything then goes straight from one device to the other. SEND FROM YOUR COMPUTER TO YOUR PHONE - Files: drag and drop them into the panel, click to browse, or paste an image - Current tab: send the page you're on in one click - Several tabs: pick any number of open tabs and send them together - Text: type or paste any text, snippet or note - Right-click menu: send a page, a link or selected text to your phone without opening the panel first - Instant QR: turns a link or text into a QR code that holds the content itself, so your phone can read it with no connection at all SEND FROM YOUR PHONE TO YOUR COMPUTER - Pick photos or files from your phone, or take a photo with the camera - Send text, or paste it from your clipboard - Everything shows up in the "Received" tab of the panel, with Save and Open buttons - Optional setting to save received files automatically NO CAMERA? USE THE BACKUP CODE Every session also has a 6-character code. Open the phone page, type the code, and you're connected. The code changes every time you open the panel, and you can generate a new one at any time. SIMPLE AND SAFE - Nothing to install on your phone: it opens a web page in your browser - No account, no sign-up - Each new device must be approved on your computer before anything is exchanged - Several phones can be connected at the same time - Transfers go directly between your devices (WebRTC) and are encrypted. Your files do not pass through any server - Closing the panel ends the session - Multiple people can use QRDrop at the same time without any interaction: every session has its own random code BUILT FOR SPEED - Large files are sent in small chunks with flow control, so the transfer stays smooth - The phone page keeps the screen awake during a session - Open the panel from the toolbar icon or with Alt+Shift+Q - Animated, clean interface made to stay out of your way PRIVACY QRDrop has no account system and no analytics, and it does not store your files. Only the matchmaking step (connecting your two devices) uses a signaling server, which sees technical connection data such as your IP address and the temporary session code. The content you send never goes through it. GOOD TO KNOW - Both devices need to stay online and connected during a transfer - On some very restrictive networks (certain company networks or mobile connections), a direct connection may not be possible - Received files are kept in memory until you save them, so avoid files of several gigabytes WHY THE PERMISSIONS - Side panel: to show the QR code and the transfer interface - Tabs: to list your open tabs so you can choose which ones to send - Context menus: for the "Send this page / link / selected text to my phone" right-click actions - Storage: to keep the items you are about to send during the session and your settings QRDrop: the fastest way to get things from your computer to your phone, and back.
