Don't Tell Me
Overview
Want to avoid spoilers for games in progress? Tired of chyron noise? Twitch chat too spicy? CTRL-SHIFT-H, drag, resize, done.
Don't Tell Me is a featherweight Google Chrome browser extension you can use to temporarily cover up part of your browser screen. Press CTRL-SHIFT-H to toggle a simple black rectangle you can drag, resize, and use to hide a section of your browser screen. H = hide. Clever, right? What is Don't Tell Me good for? - Covering up sensitive details before a screen share - Obscuring account or financial info during a demo - Redacting PII before taking screenshots for an incident report - Covering up animated ads you hate - Blocking annoying chyrons on news and sports broadcasts What Don't Tell Me doesn't do: Sniff around in your pockets or spy on you. No PII, no logins, metrics, trackers, bugs, registration, demo or trial bs. No popups begging you to try the pay version. Just a black rectangle that does your bidding and goes away when you're done. How to use Don't Tell Me: Toggle appearance: Ctrl + Shift + H (macOS: Command + Shift + H) Move: drag the box Resize: drag the bottom-right or upper-left corner Controls and label only appear on hover Size and position are saved automatically Have fun not telling!
