Don't Spoil Me
Overview
Hide YouTube's duration, timeline, thumbnails and titles, so nothing on the page spoils what happens in a video.
That 3-hour football VOD? You already know it went to extra time. You saw the runtime. The bar says 20 minutes left, so this fight isn't the last one. The heatmap has a giant spike at 41:15, so something happens at 41:15. The thumbnail says 8:04, so the review can't be that thorough. You didn't want to know any of it. YouTube told you anyway. Don't Spoil Me switches it off. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WATCH LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S COMING Five switches. Flip them and the spoilers go away everywhere at once — the player, every thumbnail, every hover preview. ⏱ The clock — the 4:21 / 12:34 readout, the duration badge on every thumbnail, the tooltip when you scrub 📊 The progress bar — the fill, the playhead, the red "you were here" line on thumbnails 🔥 The most replayed graph — the one that literally points at the best part 📑 Chapter markers — the notches and the chapter title 🖼 Storyboard thumbnails — the preview strip that shows you the ending Install it and the clock, the bar and the heatmap are already gone. Chapters and storyboards stay — flip them off whenever you like. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PERFECT FOR ⚽ Live sports and VODs you're watching a day late 🎮 Speedruns, esports, tournament brackets 📺 Anime, dramas, anything with an episode you're mid-way through 🎬 Trailers, reviews, video essays with a twist 🎯 Reaction videos where the runtime gives away the reaction ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ IT DOESN'T BREAK YOUTUBE Play, pause, volume, captions, quality, fullscreen — all untouched. The seek bar still works. You can click ahead and drag back; you just can't see where you're landing. Blind seeking, on purpose. No flash of the duration before it disappears. No lag when you scroll. It's a stylesheet, applied before the page draws. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ONE KEY FOR ALL OF IT Alt+Shift+A → everything hidden. Press it again → everything back. Want the duration for one video? Press it, look, press it again. Give any single spoiler its own shortcut too. Your shortcuts never steal YouTube's — k, j, l and f keep doing what they always did, and nothing fires while you're typing a comment. The toolbar badge tells you where you stand at a glance: green means fully spoiler-free, red means wide open. Your setup follows your Chrome profile to every machine you sign into. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ZERO DATA. GENUINELY. No account. No sign-up. No analytics. No servers — the extension makes no network requests at all, so there's nothing to send and nowhere to send it. It can't even see what you're watching. It flips CSS classes; the browser does the rest. The only thing saved is your own settings, in your own browser. Open source, MIT licensed, every line readable.
