Overview

Capture page elements or full pages as high-fidelity images. Powered by SnapDOM.

DOMShot is a Chrome extension for exporting webpage content as images. It is designed for developers, designers, and anyone who needs a clear, reusable capture of web content. Select an element on the page, capture the current visible area, or export the full page. After a capture is generated, you can preview it, copy it to the clipboard, download it, or optionally keep it in your browser for later use. Key features: • Capture an individual webpage element with precise visual selection • Capture the current visible area or the complete page • Export images as PNG, JPG, or WebP • Choose 1×, 2×, or 3× output resolution • Adjust image quality for JPG and WebP exports • Preview, automatically copy, or automatically download completed captures • Configure file naming, capture delay, and rendering options • Optionally keep up to 10 recent captures for quick reuse • Preview, copy, download, or delete saved captures • Briefly undo the deletion of an individual capture • Use the interface in English or Chinese • Choose a light or dark appearance, or follow the system setting • Keep DOMShot controls stable while scrolling, changing page zoom, or using pinch zoom • Request optional access to an image source only after you choose to retry a blocked cross-origin image Privacy and permissions: DOMShot does not require an account. Captures are generated locally in your browser and are not uploaded to a remote server. Recent Captures is off by default. When enabled, captures are stored only in the current browser and can be deleted at any time. Removing the extension also removes its saved capture history. Optional access to cross-origin image sources is requested only when you choose to reload blocked images. Image requests are made without cookies. Granted site access remains available for future captures until you remove it in Chrome. What’s new in version 0.2.3: • Improved concurrent captures, zoomed selection, scrollbar boundaries, and delayed downloads • Fixed full-page captures on body-scrolled documents and preserved document backgrounds • Improved icon-font pseudo-elements, CSS backgrounds, sprites, redirects, and failed-image layout • Made Recent Captures storage more reliable and memory-safe • Upgraded the SnapDOM rendering engine to version 2.24.17 What’s new in version 0.2.2: • Fixed transparent space, missing content, and incorrect positioning on horizontally scrollable pages • Improved the main layout and spacing of complex pages and prevented unexpected oversized borders • Fixed some icon-font glyphs appearing as missing-character boxes • Improved validation and failure reporting for inline PNG, JPEG, and SVG images • Fixed delayed visible-area captures using an outdated viewport position • Reduced the packaged extension size What’s new in version 0.2.1: • Fixed extra transparent space appearing at the bottom of some full-page PNG captures • Kept capture progress visible while excluding DOMShot controls from exported images • Fixed cases where webpage elements sharing DOMShot’s UI identifiers could be removed or omitted from captures • Improved cleanup of the element picker and other in-page controls What’s new in version 0.2.0: • Added visible-area capture • Added optional local Recent Captures • Added history preview, reuse, deletion recovery, and clear-all controls • Added a dedicated settings panel with expanded output and capture preferences • Added English and Chinese interfaces • Added light, dark, and system appearance options • Improved preview feedback, English interface copy, and image-access explanations • Improved reliability for large saved captures and extension updates DOMShot uses SnapDOM as its webpage rendering and image generation engine and includes the required third-party notices. DOMShot is independently developed and is not an official SnapDOM or ZumerLab product, nor is it endorsed by them.
