Overview

Group tabs by domain into native tab groups in one click, or browse them by site in a side panel

🗂️ Domain Tab Grouper Too many tabs to find the one you need? Domain Tab Grouper organizes your tabs by domain. Tidy them into Chrome's native tab groups with one click, or browse every tab by site in a side panel. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔀 Two modes Choose a mode on the settings page. It changes what the toolbar icon does. 📑 Tab groups mode (default) Click the toolbar icon to group the tabs in the current window by domain: • Uses Chrome's built-in tab groups, named after each domain, with colors assigned automatically • If a group with the same name already exists in the window, matching tabs are added to it • Chrome pages, extension pages and local files each get their own group • Tabs that end up ungrouped are moved to the end of the tab strip 📋 Side panel mode Click the toolbar icon to open a side panel that lists the tabs from all windows, grouped by domain: • Browse by domain: each domain shows its site icon and tab count. Click a domain to expand its tabs; other domains collapse automatically • Jump to any tab: click a tab to switch to it and bring its window to the front • Close tabs in place: hover over a tab to show a ✕ button • Search: filter by domain, tab title or URL (press / to focus the search box) • Sort: A–Z, or by number of tabs • Live updates: the list refreshes when tabs are opened, closed, moved or switched. Press R to refresh manually • Status icons: see which tabs are playing audio or are pinned • System pages last: Chrome pages, extensions and local files are listed at the bottom • Dark and light themes: follows your system setting ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚙️ Settings Right-click the toolbar icon and choose "Options" to open the settings page. Changes are saved automatically and synced with your Chrome account. • Mode: Tab groups or side panel • Skip pinned tabs: Leave pinned tabs out of groups (on by default) • Ungroup existing groups: Break up existing groups first, then regroup all tabs by domain (off by default) • Minimum tabs per group: A domain needs at least this many tabs to get a new group: 1–5 (default 2) ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌐 Languages English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese, chosen automatically from your browser's language. 🔐 Permissions • tabs, windows: Read tab URLs and titles to sort tabs by domain, and switch to or close tabs • tabGroups: Create and update tab groups • sidePanel: Show the side panel • storage: Save your settings 🛡️ Privacy Everything runs locally in your browser. The extension does not collect, store or send your browsing data. 💻 Requirements Chrome 116 or later
