Overview

Highlights URLs and DOIs from your custom list on any webpage

DOI Link Highlighter helps researchers and academics track papers across the web by highlighting DOIs and URLs from customizable lists that you create and manage. Simply add DOIs or URLs to your custom lists (one per line), choose your highlight colors, and the extension will automatically highlight matching links on any webpage you visit. This extension was created because I needed to sift through publications spanning 80+ years in the literature and needed to keep track of which links I had previously visited and which ones were beneficial (highlighted green) or not (highlighted red). Using this extension allowed me to quickly see if any papers had already been reviewed. FEATURES: - Two customizable highlight lists with unique colors (default green and red) - Add DOIs/URLs to your lists manually or via keyboard shortcuts - Highlight clickable links or both links and printed text - Smart DOI pattern recognition (10.xxxx/xxxxx format) - Keyboard shortcuts for quick additions (Alt+Q, Alt+W) - Works on journal sites, preprint servers, and all websites PERFECT FOR: - Literature reviews - Avoiding duplicate papers - Tracking citations across multiple sources - Managing reading lists HOW TO USE: 1. Add DOIs or URLs to List 1 or List 2 (one per line) 2. Choose your highlight colors 3. Visit any webpage - matching links light up automatically! KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS: - Alt+Q: Add clipboard link to List 1 - Alt+W: Add clipboard link to List 2 - Alt+Shift+Q: Add current page to List 1 - Alt+Shift+W: Add current page to List 2 Please note that shortcuts for this extension can be changed in "chrome://extensions/shortcuts" No data whatsoever is collected. All lists in your sets are stored locally in your browser.
