Floating Google Docs toolkit: download as .docx, move the doc to trash, and auto-enable Google’s live word count.

DocDock adds a small floating dock to every Google Doc you open, so the things you do most often are one click away instead of three menus deep. WHAT IT DOES Download as Word Click once and the document downloads as a .docx file, named after the doc itself. No conversion step, no re-uploading, no third-party service — DocDock uses Google's own export, so your document never leaves Google's servers. Share Opens the standard Google Docs sharing dialog straight from the dock. Move to trash Sends the current document to your Google Drive trash. It asks you to confirm first, and you can restore anything from Drive's Trash for 30 days. If you'd rather skip the confirmation, there's a setting for that. Live word count Google already has a running word count, but it's buried in Tools > Word count and switched off by default. DocDock turns it on for you when a document opens. CONTROLS Click the DocDock icon in your toolbar to switch the whole dock on or off for a document, or to show and hide individual buttons. Your choices save automatically and follow you to any Chrome you're signed into. PRIVACY DocDock does not collect, store, or transmit your documents or any personal data. There are no analytics and no external servers. The extension only runs on docs.google.com, downloads go through Google's own export endpoint, and the only thing it saves is which buttons you've turned on, stored in Chrome's own settings sync. NOTES Works on Google Docs documents. Sharing and trashing use the Google Docs interface directly, so both behave exactly as they would if you clicked through the menus yourself.
