Overview
Query 21 public resolvers with DNS Propagation Checker and get notified when a record is live. It also checks SPF, DKIM and DMARC
🌍 DNS Propagation Checker: see where your DNS change has arrived DNS Propagation Checker shows in one click whether a DNS change has reached public resolvers around the world. It sends you a notification when it has. A second tab checks the mail records of a domain, from SPF to DMARC. 🚀 How to check dns propagation: 1. Open the popup on your site; the domain of the current tab is already filled in. 2. Pick the record type and, if you like, the value you expect. 3. Press Check and read the answers of 21 resolvers side by side. 4. Start a watch, close the popup and wait for the notification. 💡 Why check propagation of DNS in your browser You changed a server IP or moved a domain to a new host. Now the question is "has my DNS propagated yet?" The popup asks 21 public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers in 17 countries at once, so a dns propagation check takes seconds. You see at once which resolvers still hold the old value. ⭐ What you get ① Every common record type, from A and CNAME to TXT and CAA, so a cname lookup or a txt record lookup is one click. ② Paste anything. A full URL becomes a domain and an IP address switches to a reverse DNS lookup. ③ Expected value: each row shows match, differs or no answer, plus a summary like "17 / 21 match". ④ Remaining TTL for resolvers that still serve the old value, such as "will refresh in about 21 min". ⑤ Identical answers are grouped, so a dns records lookup across all resolvers stays readable. 🔔 Notify me when it has propagated Start a watch and close the popup. DNS Propagation Checker repeats the check in the background every 5 to 60 minutes and sends a Chrome notification once your chosen share of resolvers returns the expected value. Up to 3 watches run at the same time. Each stops by itself after 72 hours, and the toolbar badge shows how many are active. 📧 Email check for mail records Open the Email tab of DNS Propagation Checker to check the mail setup of a domain in one go. It works as an spf checker and a dkim lookup, and the dmarc checker explains every result in plain words. ➤ SPF: finds the record, counts the 10 DNS lookups across includes and explains the ending, from -all to +all. ➤ DKIM: type a selector or let it try common ones, then see the key type and its length in bits. ➤ DMARC: reads the policy in plain words and warns about p=none, a low pct or missing reports. ➤ MX: a quick mx lookup with priorities, plus a check that every mail server name resolves. DKIM selectors cannot be listed from DNS, so "not found" after the automatic try is not proof that a domain has no DKIM. 🗺 Geo view The geo view shows which CDN edge or geo-DNS answer users in 9 countries get from the same domain. 📋 Results you can share - Copy results as plain text or Markdown. - Export a CSV file for a ticket or a report. - Reopen any of your last 20 checks from the history. - Light and dark themes, in English and Russian. 👥 Who uses DNS Propagation Checker 🔹 Web developers who move sites and want to know when to switch traffic. 🔹 Admins who change mail servers and need SPF and DMARC right. 🔹 Marketers who set up a new sending domain. 🔹 Support teams who answer "is it DNS?" with a copied table. ⚠ Honest about limits DNS Propagation Checker queries public resolvers from your browser. It does not run servers in each country, so it covers fewer places than websites with their own probe networks. Large resolvers such as Google and Cloudflare are anycast and answer from the place nearest to you. Those rows are marked "anycast". Watches run while Chrome is running. 🔒 Privacy No account, no analytics and no servers of our own. The only requests are the DNS queries you start, sent from your browser straight to the listed public resolvers. History and watches stay in your browser. ✅ At a glance ✔ dns propagation checker for 21 resolvers in 17 countries ✔ Notification when the record is live ✔ Mail records checked in one tab ✔ Copy, Markdown and CSV export Use it as a dns checker before you switch traffic, cut over email or request a certificate. If it saves you time, a short review in the store helps others find it. ❓ How long does it take for DNS to propagate? 💡 Usually minutes to a few hours, up to the old record's TTL. The remaining TTL column shows how long each resolver may keep the old value. ❓ Is DNS Propagation Checker free? 💡 Yes. Checks, watches, the email check and exports are free, with no account. ❓ Can I use it as a regular dns lookup? 💡 Yes. Leave the expected value empty to check dns records as each resolver returns them right now. The full list of resolvers is in the popup. Resolver names belong to their owners, and DNS Propagation Checker is not affiliated with them.
