Are you still supporting this extension?

You have not made any updates in over a year and just does not seem as effective as it once was :(

Add option to change your toolbar icon's color

With Windows 10 and/or apps adopting a dark theme, your black toolbar icon disappears in a black toolbar. Add an option to let the user choose which color to use, like black, medium gray, or white.

How about redefining the MIME type?

The "Don't Add Custom Search" extension is still incomplete. I reviewed this extension in Jan 2018. Revisiting the sites still had them adding their search definitions to Chrome. The author came up with some new code. After a couple revisions, I re-reviewed this extension in Aug 2018. It is still flawed. Upon repeated revisits of sites that want to add their search definition, some still succeed - which means this extension fails.

That shows the code for the "Don't Add Custom Search" extensions. Looks like we have OpenSearch.org to blame for autodiscovery of search descriptors. From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenSearch and https://www.chromium.org/tab-to-search, I wonder if an extension that redefines the application/opensearchdescription+xml MIME type would nullify the OpenSearch elements in a web page; however, maybe trying to change this MIME type's definition after the document (page) has already loaded (DOMContentLoaded) would be too late. From the Chromium article, this extension is using method 2 with an event listener.

Provide a Blacklist

Your extension may block some custom search engines from being added, but it still allows many. Perhaps some sort of more aggressive blacklist can be added in the extension options for those more stubborn custom searches.

Anyone Compared this...

Has anyone compared this extension to the UserScript? I read somewhere this doesn't work in all cases and I'm not sure if the extension and US are 1:1

Had to delete 10 Search Engines

Does not see to be doing much with newer versions of Chrome. Had to delete 10 search engines that snuck in to Chrome.

Remove the counter

I installed this extension because I like to keep my browsing experience clean. I don't like to have the extension icons change if possible. Can you add the option to turn off the counter?
