Substack video dl

It works fantastic! Just click on the extension (up right of the browser), then, download video, and it will open in another tab. There, click on the 3 dots "download" and it will appear as MP4 in your downloads folder. Change the name and save it. That's it!

It actually worked! Nothing else I've tried has worked for downloading substack videos. It didn't seem to work right away. I had to click on the extension, and have it ask me to refresh the page to show the link. Not sure if that was intended? I thought it would auto-detect that I was on a substack video page, and show the link without any action on my part. For several days, on and off, I've been trying to download a video I produced a number of years ago on a substack post. I had hoped this extension might solve the issue. Dually installed it in the Brave browser and clicked the new download video button created by the app extension. I waited for the video to silently play through and then followed the instruction suggested by Aske Bisgaard in these reviews. Crude UX but gets the job done efficiently, as opposed to many alternatives. Right click the button under the video to "Save Link As"

With substacks current promotion to video use, this extension works really well for those who need it. Suggestion for everyone is to refresh the page in order to see the download button at the bottom of the video. Thank you!

Lol I was literally watching the same Casey Muratori video when I installed the extension. Couldn't watch a stuttering video about performance-aware programming, irony was killing me. Thanks man!

Found this after trying three sites that all claimed to enable video downloads from Substack but failed to deliver. This extension worked first time. Bravo!

It's still running a download for me right now, but it does seem to be working. IMPORTANT: Someone mentioned it in a reply to a different comment but you have to go to the substack post THEN refresh the page and their janky lil orange pop up will show at the bottom of the video. Very odd. I will update this review if the MP4 doesn't work. Also, the download link simply took me to a url: stream "dot" mox "dot" com then a massive url shmear of letters and such.
