DMHarbor is a focused Instagram DM export tool for people who need a searchable, portable copy of conversations they can access in their own Instagram account. Select individual chats or export your entire inbox from the browser session where you are already signed in. EXPORT THE CONVERSATIONS YOU NEED - Browse and search your Instagram inbox inside the DMHarbor workspace. - Select one or more conversations for a targeted export. - Export the entire inbox when you need a complete archive. - Include Instagram message requests when required. - Use the quick export button added to the Instagram chat list to save one conversation with fewer steps. CHOOSE A PRACTICAL FILE FORMAT - Excel: review messages in a familiar spreadsheet layout. - CSV: analyze, filter, or import structured conversation data. - JSON: keep a structured archive for technical workflows and data portability. Exports can include conversation titles, participants, sender information, timestamps, message text, message type, reactions, shared links, and media URLs when those fields are available in the Instagram data you can access. You can also choose whether to include media URLs and system events. CONTROL THE EXPORT Use a date range to limit the messages included in a file. Adjust the pause between requests for large inboxes, follow progress while DMHarbor reads conversations, and cancel an export before the download is created. LOCAL BROWSER PROCESSING DMHarbor works with the Instagram session already open in your browser. Conversation data is processed in the extension and written directly to the file you choose. DMHarbor does not operate a developer server that receives or stores your messages, and it does not sell or use conversation content for advertising. You never enter your Instagram password into DMHarbor. The extension reads only the Instagram session indicators needed to confirm that you are signed in and to label messages from your own account. See the privacy policy for a complete description of data access, local storage, retention, and permissions. HOW TO EXPORT INSTAGRAM CHAT HISTORY 1. Open instagram.com and sign in to the account whose messages you want to export. 2. Open DMHarbor from the browser toolbar or side panel. 3. Search for and select conversations, or choose the entire inbox. 4. Select Excel, CSV, or JSON and configure optional date or content settings. 5. Start the export and keep the Instagram tab open until the download begins. IMPORTANT LIMITS DMHarbor can export only conversations and message fields that are available to your signed-in Instagram account at the time of export. It does not recover deleted or unsent messages, bypass account permissions, access another person’s account, or export content that Instagram does not provide to the browser session. Instagram may limit requests or change its web interfaces. Large inboxes can take time, and you may need to wait or retry if Instagram temporarily limits access.
