Overview
Your personal memory layer for the web.
Never forget what you read online. WebRecall is your personal memory layer for the web. Save any passage with a right-click, leave rich notes and checklists on any page, and get reminded at exactly the right moment, with no account, no server, and your notes never leaving your device. 📝 WHAT YOU CAN DO Remember any passage. Select text on any page, right-click, and choose "Remember this". The note is pinned to that exact passage and finds it again on your next visit, even if the page shifts around. Rich notes on any page. Bold, italic, links, quotes, code blocks and checklists, with Markdown shortcuts as you type. Give each note a color, or create your own colors. Set reminders. "Remind me next time I visit", a quick preset, or any exact date and time from a calendar, with a real notification when it's due. It reminds you when you return. Come back to a page and your notes and reminders are waiting for you. Site memory. Keep a running scratchpad about a whole website, not just one page, so your knowledge builds up the more you use a site. Everything in one place. All your notes grouped by website, plus a searchable timeline. One click takes you back to the page, right to the passage you saved. Track what's changed. Turn on change tracking for any website and WebRecall tells you when a page has meaningfully changed since your last visit. Reusable templates. Save note formats you use often (job applications, product research, books to read) and insert them in one click. Edit or delete them anytime. Copy context for AI. Copy everything you've saved about a website as clean text, ready to paste into ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant. Back up and restore. Export everything to a single file and import it on another device or after a reinstall. Light and dark themes, matching your system or your choice. 🔒 YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS No account, no server, no analytics. Your notes, reminders, visit history and settings are stored only in your browser on your device, never synced through anyone's servers. The only thing that goes online is site icons, which are loaded from Google's favicon service using the site's domain name. You can export or permanently delete your data at any time from the settings page. 🔑 PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED "Read and change all your data on all websites": WebRecall runs on the pages you visit so it can show your notes there and find the passages you saved. Pages are read locally and never sent anywhere. Storage: saves your notes on your device. Alarms and notifications: deliver your reminders. Context menus: adds "Remember this" to the right-click menu. Active tab: lets the popup know which page you're on when you open it. Questions or feedback: m.elalamy@outlook.com
