No. Instagram only lets you unsend messages you sent. Their messages stay in the chat. Is unsending permanent? Yes. An unsent message disappears from the conversation for everyone and cannot be restored. Save a copy first if you may need it. Why does it take a while? Each message is unsent on its own, a few seconds apart, so Instagram does not block your account. A large chat can take hours. Keep an Instagram tab open while it runs. Is it free? Yes, with a daily allowance: 20 successful unsends per day (the first 10 at Fast speed, the next 10 at Standard). Pro removes the daily limit and adds Super Speed and the conversation backup.
