DLP Policy Extension

Applies an organization's web-access and data-protection policies on managed devices. Deployed and managed by an administrator.

A policy extension applies an organization's web-access and data-protection policies to managed devices. It is deployed and managed by an administrator and is intended for organizational use. The extension does not define policies independently. Instead, it applies policies configured through the organization's management system. Depending on the configured policies: • Access to restricted web pages may be blocked and replaced with a notification explaining the applicable policy. • Restricted downloads may be prevented. • Files selected for upload may be checked against organizational data-protection policies before being transmitted. If access to a website is restricted, the notification may provide an option to request access from an administrator. The extension does not provide information to the extension developer or unrelated third parties. Policy and enforcement information is exchanged only with the organization's authorized management software and services.
