Lab Test Tracker
Overview
Track lab tests in nested folders with platforms, products, due-date alerts, rich notes, attachments and filterable status reports.
Lab Test Tracker is a notebook, tracker and status-report generator for people who test things for a living. Plan a test, run it, capture what happened, watch the deadlines, and hand over a clean report — all inside Chrome, with your data kept on your own computer. WHY IT HELPS Lab work scatters fast: a spreadsheet for status, a doc for steps, a folder of screenshots, a calendar for deadlines, a chat thread for the verdict. Lab Test Tracker keeps the plan, the result, the evidence, the environment and the due date together on one record, so you can find, repeat and report on any test in seconds. FEATURES NESTED FOLDERS Organize tests by project, release, feature or customer. Create as many top-level folders as you need, nest them to any depth, and click anywhere on a folder row to expand or collapse it. Rename inline and drag tests or folders to reorganize. PLATFORMS REGISTRY Build a registry of the operating systems and environments you test on. Each platform has nested versions with descriptions and an optional icon. It comes preloaded with recent Windows, macOS, iOS and Android releases, so you can start right away. Pick a platform and version on any test and see the combined label (for example "Windows 11 24H2") with its icon. PRODUCT UNDER TEST Say exactly what you are testing. Keep a registry of products with nested versions, descriptions and optional icons, and pick the Product Under Test (and its version) first on every test, or type it freeform for a quick note. Then record the platform and OS version it ran on. STATUS AND DUE DATES Mark each test Not Started, In Progress, Pass, Fail or Blocked, with color-coded dots in the sidebar. Give any test a due date. The bell in the header shows a badge for tests that are overdue or due within the next day, and one click takes you straight to them. Tests marked Pass drop off the list. STATUS REPORTS Open a report of every test in one table, with counts per status. Filter by product under test, platform, status, endpoint or due date, then print it, save it as a PDF, or export it as a CSV for spreadsheets and status updates. RICH TEST PLAN AND RESULTS Two formatted notes per test: bold, italics, bullet and numbered lists, inline code styling, adjustable font size, and images that you paste, drag in or insert, with a resize slider. Pop either section into its own window to work side by side. ATTACHMENTS Drag in logs, captures, configs and exports, or use Add File. Open them in a tab or download them later. SINGLE-TEST PDF EXPORT Generate a clean report for one test with its platform, product, status, endpoint, due date, Test Plan, Results and attachment list. Formatting, code blocks and images are included. CLEAN, COMPACT DESIGN Modern line icons and typography, a tight header that keeps your notes front and center, and a layout that adapts to the window: icon-only buttons in narrow windows, a full workspace in a tab. POPUP, TAB OR WINDOW Quick look from the toolbar popup, full size in a tab, or in its own window. All views stay in sync live. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB). No account, no servers, no analytics, no network calls. Uninstalling the extension removes the data. GREAT FOR • QA and test engineers • IT admins validating policies, patches, images and deployments • Solutions and sales engineers running proofs of concept and bake-offs • Anyone comparing products or builds across devices and operating systems GETTING STARTED 1. Click the toolbar icon. 2. Add a folder, then a test. 3. Pick the Product Under Test and platform, set a status and due date, write your plan, record your results, and attach evidence. 4. Open Report to filter, print or export a status update. KNOWN LIMITS Data is local to this Chrome profile and does not sync across devices. There is no whole-dataset export or import yet. The due-date bell updates while the extension is open; it does not badge the Chrome toolbar icon ## What's new in 1.2.0 A refreshed, more compact look: modern line icons and typography, a tighter test header with the Product Under Test first, layouts that fit the window size, and pre-loaded platforms for some common OSes
