The tooltip tells you what you'll get, for example "Download image · 1080×1350" or "Download item 3 of 5". • "All" button — on posts with several photos or videos, a second button saves the whole post. • Button next to Like · Comment · Share — a download icon sits with Instagram's own post buttons and shows how many items the post has. On multi-item posts it opens a picker with thumbnails so you can tick exactly the ones you want. • Stories & Highlights bar — "Save" and "All" buttons appear on the Story you're viewing. Clicking them never skips or closes the Story. • Keyboard shortcut — press Ctrl+Shift+D (Windows/Linux) or ⌘+Shift+D (Mac) to save what you're looking at. Images are cropped from the centre, straight from the original pixels. Nothing is ever stretched or upscaled. • Format: Original (the untouched file, exactly as Instagram serves it), JPG, JPEG, PNG or WebP. AVIF is offered automatically when your browser supports it. • Compression: Original quality, 95%, 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, 50% or any custom value. The popup shows an estimate of the new file size before you download. • Video quality: Best available, High (up to 1080p), Medium (up to 720p) or Lower bandwidth. Install MediaDock and open instagram.com. 2. Hover any photo or video and click the round download button — or use the icon next to Like / Comment / Share. 3. For many files, click the MediaDock icon in your toolbar, choose what you want, set the size and format, and click "Download selected". 4. On a profile, click "Download all" (bottom-right) to save the whole profile. 5. In your Chrome download folder, inside MediaDock › account name, for example Downloads/MediaDock/homedecor.studio/homedecor.studio-01.jpg. My files got random names or landed outside the MediaDock folder. Why? Chrome lets only one extension decide download file names. If another installed extension also manages downloads (for example a download manager, IDM Integration, or another downloader), it can take over the names. MediaDock detects this and shows a message. Turn the other extension off in chrome://extensions and download again. Why is a format greyed out? Your browser can't create that format (AVIF on many Chrome versions). MediaDock checks this automatically and only offers formats that work. Can I crop videos to 9:16 or 2:3? Cropping applies to photos. Videos are saved exactly as Instagram provides them, in their original frame and quality. Does it work with private accounts? Only if Instagram already shows you that content in your browser. MediaDock never bypasses privacy settings, logins or other restrictions. Do I need to log in to MediaDock? No. There is no MediaDock account.
