Safe Session Saver - Tab & Session Manager
Overview
Save all open tabs and windows in one click and restore them, even after a crash. 100% local, no account.
Safe Session Saver is a session manager for Chrome that saves all your open tabs and windows in one click and brings them back — even after the browser crashes. Everything stays on your computer: no account, no sign-in, no servers. WHY ANOTHER SESSION MANAGER? Most tab managers do a good job until the one moment you need them: the browser crashes, the laptop restarts for an update, or a window gets closed by mistake. Safe Session Saver was built around that moment. Its first promise is simple: your tabs do not get lost. SAVE TABS IN ONE CLICK • Save this window or all windows as a named session. • Leave the name empty and the session gets a clear name with the date and the number of tabs. • Pinned tabs stay pinned. • Search across all saved sessions — by session name, tab title or address. RESTORE THE WAY YOU WANT • Open a saved session in a new window, or add its tabs to the current window. • Multi-window sessions come back as separate windows. • Large sessions open tab by tab, so one broken link never stops the rest. • Browser pages that Chrome does not allow extensions to open (settings, other extensions) are listed so you can open them yourself — nothing disappears silently. CRASH RECOVERY • While you browse, the session manager keeps automatic snapshots of your open tabs (every few minutes and after changes). • After a crash or restart the previous browser session is kept apart, so new tabs you open after the restart cannot overwrite it. • Open the extension and you see “Previous browser session” with Restore and Save buttons. • Windows you close by mistake appear in “Recently closed windows”. NOTHING GETS LOST • Deleted sessions go to the Trash for 30 days, with Undo. • Your data is written with several backup copies. If something gets damaged, the extension recovers from a backup and sets the damaged part aside instead of erasing it. • When you reach the limit of saved sessions, your new save is kept as a draft instead of being refused. IMPORT AND EXPORT • Export all sessions to JSON (full backup) or Markdown (readable list of links). • Import a Safe Session Saver backup (JSON) or a OneTab export (text). You see what will be imported before anything is written, and duplicates are skipped. PRIVACY • 100% local. Sessions are stored only in your browser’s storage. • No account, no analytics, no tracking, no remote code. • Tab icons are taken from Chrome’s own local icon cache — the extension makes no network requests to show them. • Private (incognito) windows are never saved. LIMITS, HONESTLY • Up to 10 saved sessions plus up to 3 drafts. Automatic snapshots, previous sessions, closed windows and the Trash are always available. • Tab groups are not saved yet — this is planned for a future update. • A Pro version is coming. The “Pro — soon” button opens a waiting list page; nothing is sold inside the extension today. HOW TO USE 1. Click the Safe Session Saver icon in the toolbar. 2. Type a name (optional) and press “Save this window” or “Save all windows”. 3. To bring tabs back, press ↗ to open a session in a new window or + to add it to the current one. 4. After a crash, open the extension and press Restore on the “Previous browser session” notice. Questions or ideas: https://session-saver.olgavpn.workers.dev
