When you use voice on chatgpt.com, this unofficial extension replaces the default voice UI with a photorealistic video avatar in a panel above the chat. The avatar looks toward the camera and reacts to the conversation: listening while you speak, thinking while ChatGPT prepares a reply, speaking while you hear the AI, plus short greeting and farewell clips when a voice session starts and ends. During an active voice session, mute and end-call controls sit on the avatar frame (like a video meeting), so the panel feels closer to a live video chat than a passive clip. This is an AI avatar - not a real person or a live camera feed! VOICE MODE • Built for ChatGPT Voice. Start a voice conversation on chatgpt.com as you usually do; the avatar appears automatically. • One avatar is included today: more coming soon. PRIVACY • No sign-up with us. We do not send your conversations or audio to our servers. • Audio levels are analyzed locally in your browser tab to drive avatar states.
